The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), reaffirmed its commitment to accountable and professional institutional governance by organizing a Socialization on the Introduction of Coretax and the Reporting of Annual Personal Income Tax Returns (SPT). The event was held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at Room B 302 of FPK UNAIR and featured the Directorate of Finance Team of Universitas Airlangga as the main resource persons.

The session was attended by lecturers and administrative staff who actively participated in the technical guidance on the Coretax system and the proper procedures for submitting Annual Personal Tax Returns in accordance with the latest fiscal regulations. The initiative was designed to strengthen tax literacy within the academic community and to ensure that tax reporting practices are conducted accurately, transparently, and in compliance with national standards.

In the era of digital tax administration, understanding and effectively utilizing the Coretax system has become increasingly essential. The socialization provided comprehensive insights into recent regulatory updates, integrated digital reporting mechanisms, and practical technical guidance for accurate Annual Tax Return submission. Through interactive discussions and direct explanations from the Directorate of Finance Team, participants gained both conceptual understanding and practical knowledge to support timely and precise tax reporting.

Beyond administrative compliance, the initiative reflects FPK UNAIR’s broader contribution to sustainable governance and national development. Proper tax compliance plays a significant role in supporting public financing that underpins the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through responsible fiscal participation, higher education institutions indirectly contribute to poverty alleviation efforts under SDG 1 (No Poverty), food security initiatives under SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), climate mitigation and adaptation programs under SDG 13 (Climate Action), and marine ecosystem protection under SDG 14 (Life Below Water). Furthermore, the collaboration between FPK UNAIR and the Directorate of Finance embodies the spirit of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing the importance of institutional partnerships in advancing sustainable development.

As a faculty dedicated to fisheries and marine sciences, FPK UNAIR recognizes that sound fiscal governance and regulatory compliance are integral to institutional integrity and long-term sustainability. Through this initiative, the faculty continues to cultivate a culture of professionalism, accountability, and responsible citizenship among its academic community.
