As a tangible expression of concern for the continuity of student education, the Ministry of Student Advocacy and Welfare (Adkesma) of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (BEM FPK Unair) successfully implemented the Fishcare 2025 program. Held from June 18 to July 14, 2025, this initiative focused on providing administrative and financial assistance for students facing tuition-related challenges. Fishcare represents BEM FPK Unair’s commitment to ensuring that every student can pursue their education without being hindered by economic barriers, reinforcing the faculty’s vision of inclusive and equitable access to higher education.
The series of activities within Fishcare 2025 included three main assistance schemes: Tuition Appeal (Banding UKT), Tuition Reduction (Keringanan UKT), and Tuition Installment and Deferral (Pengangsuran dan Penangguhan UKT). These components were carried out through a structured process involving student outreach, document collection guidance, verification of required paperwork, and coordination with faculty administrators for final approval. Through this systematic approach, Fishcare 2025 not only provided practical aid but also served as a platform for advocacy—ensuring that every student’s right to fair and accessible education was protected and facilitated.
The implementation of Fishcare 2025 ran smoothly and received highly positive feedback from participating students. Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance that enabled them to continue their studies despite financial constraints. The program proved impactful, helping to reduce students’ financial burdens while simultaneously strengthening the spirit of solidarity and empathy among the FPK Unair academic community. This collaborative atmosphere encouraged students to support one another, embodying the faculty’s core values of inclusivity, compassion, and collective progress.
The final report highlighted that Fishcare 2025 successfully met its objectives, achieving measurable outcomes in supporting students’ financial stability and academic persistence. Beyond providing direct aid, the program demonstrated a sustainable model of student welfare management led by peers and supported by institutional coordination. Moving forward, BEM FPK Unair aims to continue developing Fishcare with broader innovations and reach—ensuring that future iterations can accommodate even more students and adapt to evolving educational needs. With initiatives like this, FPK Unair reaffirms its role not only as an academic institution but also as a nurturing environment that upholds student well-being and academic resilience.
