#FisheriesAroundTheGlobe: FPK Unair Students Learn Sustainable Fisheries Practices in Thailand

Bagikan

In a special program titled #FisheriesAroundTheGlobe, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Universitas Airlangga (FPK Unair) sent its students to Thailand to learn sustainable fisheries practices. Through this outbound program, students had the valuable opportunity to engage in research internships at some of Thailand’s leading universities, while delving into the global fisheries sector and contributing to important research.

Over the course of several months, FPK Unair students were involved in various research projects highlighting sustainable fisheries practices. They collaborated with local academics and practitioners, learning environmentally friendly fish farming techniques and efficient marine resource management methods. This process gives them an in-depth insight into how other countries handle challenges in the fisheries sector, while strengthening their research and application skills.

Not only focused on the academic aspect, the program also offers students the opportunity to experience a rich cultural exchange. Interacting with local communities in Thailand broadened their perspectives on cultural differences and lifestyles, creating fruitful cross-country relationships.

This outbound program is expected to enrich the experience of FPK Unair students, strengthen their abilities in global fisheries research, and instill awareness of the importance of sustainable practices in fisheries. By learning first-hand the best practices in Thailand, the students are expected to bring new innovations and solutions to the fisheries industry in Indonesia in the future.
