Academic Profile
Prof. Ir. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, M.Si., Ph.D. is a Professor of Marine Biology at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga. His research focuses on seaweed biotechnology, marine bioproducts, bioplastics, edible films, environmentally friendly composite materials, and the utilization of alginate-based resources for sustainable industrial applications.
His work has significantly contributed to the development of renewable and environmentally friendly materials derived from marine resources. Through interdisciplinary research, he promotes the transformation of seaweed and marine biomass into high-value products that support sustainable development, food security, and the blue economy.
In addition to his academic contributions, Prof. Amin Alamsjah currently serves as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of Universitas Airlangga for the 2025–2030 period, playing a strategic role in advancing higher education, research, and innovation.
