A proud achievement comes from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), which has secured second place as the best university in Indonesia according to the QS Asian University Ranking (QS AUR) 2025. This result was announced at the QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific in Macau on Wednesday (6/11/2024).
Beyond the national ranking, UNAIR also ranks 12th in Southeast Asia and 52nd in Asia, with an impressive score of 70.5. This achievement shows significant progress, considering that last year UNAIR was ranked 15th in Southeast Asia and 67th in Asia.
This accomplishment is certainly a result of hard work and continuous improvements in several key indicators. UNAIR ranks first in Indonesia for two crucial indicators: International Student and International Research Network. Additionally, in the Employer Reputation indicator, UNAIR ranks second nationally, reflecting the relevance of its education to the industry.
UNAIR’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT Ak, shared that this achievement is the result of ongoing improvements, including in learning and research facilities. “Quality research facilities significantly impact our academic reputation. With international-standard facilities, we can attract more global research collaborations,” said Prof. Nasih.
Although this ranking is highly impressive, Prof. Nasih emphasized that UNAIR’s main goal is not just to achieve rankings but to create real impact through research and innovation. “The most important thing is continuous improvement in every aspect so that students can produce work that has a meaningful impact,” he added.
This achievement comes as UNAIR celebrates its 70th anniversary, proving that the university remains committed to enhancing the quality of education and teaching.
