The Social Affairs Department of BEM FPK kicked off its first program with great enthusiasm, bringing blessings during the holy month of Ramadan. Safari Ramadan serves as a platform to foster empathy and solidarity with those in need while strengthening bonds within the community.
This year, Safari Ramadan was even more festive, featuring two main events. The first was “Inspiring Ramadan”, a collaboration with BEM PENS aimed at expanding connections beyond FPK and UNAIR. This event took place at Darussalam Orphanage on March 9, 2025, with engaging activities such as tote bag painting, watching inspirational films, and rewarding enthusiastic participants. The event concluded with a communal iftar (breaking of the fast). A total of 25 children from the orphanage joined the event.
Candra, the event’s chairman, expressed his hopes, saying, “We hope that our presence at Darussalam Orphanage brings warmth and benefits to the children.”
The second agenda of Safari Ramadan was “Ramadan Fest,” designed to strengthen the bond between FPK lecturers, staff, and students. This event took place on March 20, 2025, at FPK Field and was enlivened by various FPK-affiliated organizations, including faculty organizations and student bodies, which set up food stalls offering takjil (light meals for breaking the fast). Besides the bazaar, a door prize event added to the excitement of the evening.
