Following the implementation of the walk-in interview event, alumni of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) had the opportunity to undergo direct assessment by PT. Istana Cipta Sembada (ICS). This selection process served as a crucial stage in ensuring that candidates met the qualifications required by the company.
The Interview Process: A Crucial Step for Alumni
During the interview, participants were evaluated based on their academic background, technical skills, and personal attributes. The HR team at PT. ICS emphasized several key aspects in their assessment:
Technical Competency: Knowledge related to fish processing, quality control, and compliance with industry standards.
Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze and find solutions to real-world challenges in the seafood processing industry.
Teamwork and Adaptability: How well candidates could integrate into the company’s work culture and collaborate with team members.
According to Alfi Rossi Chanafi, M.Psi., Psychologist, the selection process was rigorous but also designed to provide valuable learning experiences for participants. “We want to ensure that selected candidates are not only academically capable but also adaptable and eager to contribute to the company,” she explained.

For many alumni, this event was their first experience in a professional interview setting. Ayu Kartika, one of the participants, shared her experience: “This interview session was very insightful. I gained an understanding of what companies look for in candidates and what I need to improve.”
Similarly, Daffa Pratama, another participant, highlighted the importance of industry collaboration in bridging the gap between education and employment. “It’s not just about getting a job but also about understanding industry expectations. This event helped me prepare better for my career,” he stated.

The success of this event also aligns with Universitas Airlangga’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU), particularly in increasing the number of graduates securing employment within three months after graduation. This achievement reflects the effectiveness of industry-academia collaboration in preparing job-ready graduates.
As the selection process progressed, the anticipation among participants grew. The final announcement of successful candidates would mark the beginning of their professional journey at PT.
