The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), reaffirmed its commitment to advancing research excellence through the Research, Publication, and Citation Enhancement Strategy Meeting held on Friday, 27 February 2026, at Building C701–702. The internal forum brought together faculty leaders and academic staff to align strategic priorities in strengthening research productivity, improving publication quality, and increasing citation impact as part of a long-term effort to enhance institutional reputation at both national and global levels.
As an integral part of Universitas Airlangga, FPK UNAIR positions research publication and citation performance as key indicators of academic quality within the tridharma of higher education—education, research, and community service. The meeting was attended by the Dean, vice deans, department heads, and lecturers across the faculty, serving as a reflective platform to evaluate current performance and formulate measurable strategies moving forward. In his opening remarks, the Dean emphasized that citations are not merely quantitative metrics but represent the scientific impact and relevance of scholarly work. Highly cited articles indicate that research findings contribute meaningfully to scientific discourse, inform policy considerations, and serve as references for researchers nationally and internationally.
