On Saturday, November 22, 2025, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR) hosted the Election of the Chair of the FPK Duta Association for the 2025/2026 term of office. The event brought together active Duta members from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts in a spirit of collegiality, leadership renewal, and institutional commitment. Conducted in an open and transparent manner, the election marked an important milestone in strengthening student representation and reinforcing the role of the Duta FPK as ambassadors of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement within and beyond the faculty.
The election was organized in accordance with the official work program of the FPK Duta Association and followed mutually agreed election regulations. The process reflected principles of transparency, accountability, and participatory governance, ensuring that all eligible members present had the opportunity to exercise their voting rights. Three candidates were officially nominated and confirmed prior to the voting process: Candidate 1, Nizar Abiddin Ammar; Candidate 2, Dania Martini; and Candidate 3, Erika Az Zahra. Each candidate presented their vision, mission, and proposed work programs, outlining strategic plans to enhance the contribution of Duta FPK in supporting academic activities, research dissemination, student empowerment, and public outreach initiatives aligned with the faculty’s Tri Dharma of Higher Education—education, research, and community service.
The voting process was conducted through an open ballot system involving all attending members. After a transparent vote-counting session, Candidate 1, Nizar Abiddin Ammar, received 11 votes; Candidate 2, Dania Martini, obtained 6 votes; and Candidate 3, Erika Az Zahra, secured 3 votes. Based on the official vote tally, Nizar Abiddin Ammar was duly elected as Chair of the FPK Duta Association for the 2025/2026 period. This appointment is effective from the date of ratification and will remain in force until the selection of a new chair in the subsequent term. The newly elected chair is entrusted with leading the association in fostering collaborative programs, strengthening partnerships, promoting faculty achievements at national and international levels, and maintaining the integrity and reputation of Duta FPK UNAIR as student ambassadors of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga.
Congratulations are extended to Nizar Abiddin Ammar on his appointment as Chair of the FPK Duta Association for 2025/2026. It is hoped that he will carry out this mandate with responsibility, professionalism, and dedication, while continuing to uphold the good name and values of Duta FPK UNAIR.
