FPK UNAIR February 9th 2026 – Inauguration of Student Organizations

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), officially held the Inauguration of the Faculty’s Student Organizations (ORMAWA FPK) for the 2026 term on Monday, 9 February 2026. This event marked the formal handover of leadership positions within student organizations and reaffirmed the commitment of newly appointed student leaders to uphold responsible, professional, and sustainable organizational governance.

The inauguration served not merely as a ceremonial occasion but also as a strategic moment to reinforce leadership values, academic integrity, and the implementation of Universitas Airlangga’s Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The event was attended by the core executive boards of FPK UNAIR student organizations, including the Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Legislative Board (BLM), Student Legislative Council (DLM), Islamic Spiritual Division (SKI), Student Scientific Studies (KAKEMA), Fisheries Processing Club (FPC), Association of Fishery Product Technology Students (HIMATEKHIKAN), and the Aquaculture Student Association (HIMAKUA).

The presence of these organizations reflects the dynamic and comprehensive student ecosystem within FPK UNAIR, encompassing leadership development, legislative functions, scientific activities, spiritual growth, and interest-based student development in fisheries and marine sciences.

The inauguration began with an official opening by the master of ceremonies, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and the Airlangga Hymn to reinforce institutional identity and national values. The agenda continued with the reading of the Dean’s Decree regarding the appointment of ORMAWA FPK administrators for the 2026 term.

The core ceremony included the official inauguration of student organization officers, the recitation of oaths and pledges, and the handover of leadership accompanied by the signing of official documents. The event was further enriched by speeches from the Chairperson of BEM FPK 2025, the newly elected Chairperson of BEM FPK 2026, and the Dean of FPK UNAIR, emphasizing the strategic role of student organizations in supporting the faculty’s academic environment.

Student organizations play a crucial role as platforms for leadership training, character building, and the development of students’ soft skills. Through ORMAWA, FPK UNAIR students are expected to enhance critical thinking, communication, organizational management, and social awareness in response to global challenges in the fisheries and marine sectors.

Furthermore, ORMAWA serves as a strategic partner of the faculty in supporting academic activities, student research, community engagement, and programs aligned with FPK UNAIR’s vision to produce competitive graduates with international perspectives.

Through this inauguration, FPK UNAIR reaffirmed its commitment to supporting student organizations as an integral part of the higher education ecosystem. The synergy between ORMAWA, faculty members, and faculty leadership is expected to foster an academic environment that is conducive, inclusive, and adaptive to the evolving landscape of science and technology.
