Jepara – The evaluation of Universitas Airlangga students at the Brackishwater Aquaculture Center (BBPBAP) Jepara revealed an important aspect: while students excel academically, they still need improvement in their soft skills.
Academic Excellence vs. Soft Skills Gap
Although their academic knowledge and technical ability were well-regarded, students were found to be less proactive in voicing opinions and engaging in discussions. This gap highlights the importance of strengthening communication, teamwork, and confidence-building skills.
Curriculum Reflection
Supervising lecturers emphasized that these findings would serve as valuable input for designing a more balanced internship curriculum. Future programs will not only prioritize technical training but also emphasize soft skills as an essential component of professional readiness.
Long-Term Commitment of FPK UNAIR
The monitoring and evaluation program is not merely a routine assessment, but a strategic reflection aimed at enhancing graduate quality. By strengthening both technical and soft skills, FPK UNAIR ensures its graduates are better prepared for the demands of the global workforce.
“Soft skills development will make our students stand out in the international arena,” noted one of the supervising lecturers.
