Bandung, 9 May 2025 — The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences – Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR) paid an official visit to the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences – Universitas Padjadjaran (FPIK UNPAD) at their Jatinangor campus in Bandung, aiming to strengthen institutional collaboration in higher‑education’s tri‑dharma of Teaching, Research and Community Service.
The FPK UNAIR delegation was led by three Associate Deans: Associate Dean I for Academics, Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Ir. Woro Hastuti Satyantini; along with the Associate Dean II for Resources and Associate Dean III for Research, Innovation and Community Service. The visit is intended to tighten institutional relations between the faculties in carrying out education, research and community‑service missions.
They were warmly welcomed by the Associate Dean for Resources and Organisation of FPIK UNPAD, Dr. Mega Laksmini Syamsudin, M.T., Ph.D., together with her faculty leadership team. In her welcoming remarks, she lauded the initiative as a strategic collaboration that will help both institutions face global challenges in fisheries and marine science.
“We are very open to collaborative opportunities, especially in developing curriculum aligned with the ‘Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka’ (MBKM) framework, joint research, and community‑service grounded in local potentials,” said Dr. Mega Laksmini.
This visit also served as a forum for discussion on the development of lecturer and student exchange programmes, sustainable marine research collaborations, and community‑service activities along Java’s coastal areas and beyond. Both parties agreed to follow up the meeting with a memorandum of understanding in the near future.
The visit is expected to mark the beginning of a long‑term synergy between FPK UNAIR and FPIK UNPAD, to realise a higher‑education tri‑dharma that is adaptive, collaborative and delivers tangible impact for society and the nation.
