The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine held the 2026 Student Organization (ORMAWA) Inauguration Ceremony, attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, and members of the academic community. On this occasion, Dimas Ananda Prasetyo, a student of the Fisheries Product Technology Study Program, delivered his first official speech as the newly appointed President of BEM for the 2026 period.
In his remarks, Dimas expressed gratitude to the faculty leaders, lecturers, and the entire academic community of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine for organizing the inauguration ceremony. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation to the previous management for their contributions and support, as well as to his vice president and ministerial board for their willingness to accompany him in leading BEM 2026.
Dimas firmly stated that BEM is not merely an organization, but both a platform and a moral responsibility for students and the faculty. He acknowledged that the mandate entrusted to him is not a light one, emphasizing that BEM carries a significant role in representing and serving the interests of students while contributing to the faculty.
As the new president, Dimas expressed his commitment to running the organization with professionalism and meaningful impact. He pledged to give his best performance during his final year in BEM FPK and to take previous shortcomings as lessons for improvement moving forward.
Furthermore, he highlighted that synergy among student organizations (ORMAWA) is the key to achieving a more advanced Faculty of Fisheries and Marine. He invited all student organizations to collaborate and work together for the collective progress of the faculty.
In closing, Dimas shared a guiding principle he holds in leading the 2026 period: being part of BEM should never make its members feel superior to other students. Instead, he emphasized that BEM members must see themselves as servants for the students and servants for the faculty.
