From April to September 2025, the Art, Interest, and Talent Division (SEMIKAT) of the Student Association of Fishery Products Technology (HIMATEKHIKAN), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, carried out an inspiring initiative titled HEART (Healthy, Active, and Art). The program was designed to raise student awareness about the importance of maintaining balance between creativity, physical activity, and healthy living habits. The initiative was implemented through a series of monthly educational content publications on HIMATEKHIKAN’s social media platforms, offering engaging and informative materials related to health, arts, and sports.
The HEART program highlighted three main themes: healthy lifestyle education, Indonesian arts and culture, and sports. Each monthly publication aimed to inspire students to nurture their creativity while staying physically active as part of a sustainable lifestyle. The content was presented in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format, combining educational messages with practical tips that students could apply in their daily routines. Through this approach, HIMATEKHIKAN sought to encourage a positive shift in students’ mindsets — from viewing health and creativity as separate activities to integrating them as essential aspects of personal growth and academic success.
This initiative aligns with Universitas Airlangga’s continuous efforts to foster holistic student development through extracurricular activities that complement academic learning. By emphasizing the synergy between health, art, and activity, the HEART program also contributes to the broader mission of UNAIR in promoting student welfare, creativity, and productivity. The content not only served as educational media but also functioned as a platform for students to share ideas, talents, and experiences, thereby building a supportive and dynamic academic community within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.
Throughout the program, the response from students was overwhelmingly positive. Each social media post received active engagement in the form of likes, comments, and shares, reflecting genuine enthusiasm for the topics presented. Many students expressed appreciation for the relatable and motivating content, noting how it encouraged them to adopt healthier habits and explore artistic interests alongside their academic activities. The consistent engagement demonstrated that digital initiatives like HEART can effectively connect student organizations with the wider university community, fostering interaction and shared learning beyond the classroom.
The HEART program concluded successfully, achieving its goals and meeting the targets set by the organizing committee. As a continuing impact, the initiative is expected to further motivate students to maintain an active and balanced lifestyle while discovering and enhancing their artistic and personal potential. HIMATEKHIKAN hopes that this program will inspire future projects that integrate education, creativity, and well-being — reinforcing Universitas Airlangga’s commitment to cultivating students who are healthy, creative, and ready to make meaningful contributions to society.
