Summer Course: Cultural Exchange and Diversity in Fisheries Education

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Universitas Airlangga once again held a flagship program entitled “Summer Course,” which offers a unique educational experience for international students. The program is designed to bring together participants from various countries in order to enrich academic insights and strengthen cross-cultural collaboration in the field of fisheries and marine affairs.

For several months, participants from various countries take part in various activities, ranging from field trips, laboratory sessions, to lectures from international guest lecturers. In addition, participants are also invited to engage in hands-on practical activities in laboratories and research sites managed by the faculty. The main objective of the program is to create an environment conducive to exchanging knowledge and experiences, while promoting cultural diversity among students from different backgrounds.

Not only does the program broaden academic horizons, it also serves as a means for students to develop cross-cultural competencies that are invaluable in today’s era of globalization. Students who participate in the Summer Course at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs Universitas Airlangga get a unique opportunity to interact with international peers, expand their academic network, and understand the dynamics of fisheries education in various countries.

This program reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs to continue to encourage the internationalization of education and build wider global networks, so that participants can bring home valuable experiences that not only enrich academic knowledge, but also deep personal experiences of cultural diversity.

With programs such as the Summer Course, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences seeks to produce graduates who are not only academically competent, but also have an inclusive global outlook and are ready to contribute in various international sectors.
