On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR) held an event titled “Link and Learn” at Building B Room 304. This event was one of the flagship programs initiated by the Student Association of Fisheries Product Technology (HIMATEKHIKAN), specifically by the External Relations Division (Hublu). The seminar served as an internship orientation for new students, aiming to provide an early understanding of the importance of internship experience in preparing for professional careers. It also encouraged freshmen to be more proactive in developing skills, expanding professional networks, and understanding internship procedures and administrative requirements.
The event began with an introduction of the speaker by the master of ceremonies. The invited speaker, Tegar Pambudi Sulistyo, S.Pi, an alumnus of FPK UNAIR who currently works at PT. Mega Marine Pride, shared valuable insights drawn from his personal experiences. During the presentation, he discussed topics such as internship preparation, workplace adaptation, professional ethics, and strategies for facing challenges in professional environments. He also shared real-world case studies related to the fisheries and marine industries, providing participants with a realistic overview of career pathways and workplace dynamics. This approach helped new students connect academic learning with professional applications, strengthening their motivation and readiness to take part in future internships.
The session continued with an engaging discussion between the speaker and participants. Freshmen enthusiastically asked questions regarding internship preparation, networking strategies, and tips for adapting to work culture. Many also sought advice on how to develop essential soft skills to enhance their employability after graduation. The high level of interaction reflected the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity about career readiness and professional development. Through this dialogue, participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical insights that would support their growth as future professionals in fisheries and marine industries.
The “Link and Learn” seminar ran smoothly and successfully achieved its objectives. Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the session, making the atmosphere dynamic and interactive.
