The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (BEM FPK UNAIR) for the 2026 term under the Nalendra Cabinet officially convened its Annual Work Meeting as a strategic first step in defining the organization’s direction for the upcoming leadership period. The meeting brought together all BEM FPK UNAIR 2026 functionaries and marked a significant milestone in drafting a comprehensive blueprint of work programs oriented toward delivering tangible impact for students and the broader community. As an integral part of the academic ecosystem within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK UNAIR), the Work Meeting served not merely as an internal consolidation forum but as a structured platform to align vision, mission, and measurable action plans.

The Work Meeting functioned as an official forum to present, deliberate, and harmonize program proposals from each ministry within BEM FPK UNAIR. Every ministry outlined its strategic plan for the one-year term, detailing the background rationale, urgency, objectives, and measurable indicators of success. Discussions were conducted in a constructive and participatory manner, ensuring that proposed programs would not be limited to ceremonial activities but instead generate sustainable and quantifiable outcomes. A central theme of this year’s formulation was strengthening the role of students as agents of change in maritime affairs, community empowerment, and youth capacity development. By positioning maritime and fisheries issues at the core of its agenda, BEM FPK UNAIR reinforces the faculty’s academic identity while encouraging students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. This structured planning process reflects a governance approach that prioritizes accountability, clarity of targets, and long-term impact within student organizational management.

A key priority in the 2026 work program design is the implementation of initiatives that directly benefit coastal communities and contribute to the development of senior high school and vocational school students’ interests and talents. Through community empowerment initiatives, BEM FPK UNAIR aims to enhance the economic capacity of local fisheries-based communities, thereby contributing to SDG 1 (No Poverty) by supporting income sustainability and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting fisheries as a strategic source of food security. Additionally, programs focused on coastal environmental literacy and marine conservation align with SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water), recognizing the urgent need to address climate impacts and protect marine ecosystems. The collaborative approach embedded within these programs also reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing multi-stakeholder engagement as a cornerstone of sustainable development. By integrating global development frameworks into student-led initiatives, BEM FPK UNAIR ensures that its programs remain relevant to national priorities and international sustainability commitments.

Beyond its organizational function, the Work Meeting also served as a platform for shaping the collective identity of FPK UNAIR students as solution-oriented academic citizens responsive to maritime challenges. The finalized blueprint is expected to strengthen synergy among students, faculty leadership, and community partners, fostering an integrated ecosystem that supports the tridharma of higher education—education, research, and community service. Through structured planning and strategic alignment with faculty priorities, the Nalendra Cabinet lays a strong foundation for a year of impactful and sustainable initiatives. With a clear roadmap and collaborative spirit, BEM FPK UNAIR 2026 expresses optimism in delivering programs that are adaptive, measurable, and responsive to contemporary societal needs. This Work Meeting stands as the starting point of a transformative organizational journey aimed at empowering students while advancing maritime development and community resilience in Indonesia.
