Surabaya, August 30, 2025 — Following monitoring activities at three PKL sites, UNAIR’s Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences formulated strategies to further enhance the quality of education and partnerships with the fisheries industry. The findings from the August 2025 program serve as a strategic reflection in preparing graduates who are technically skilled, communicative, and adaptive.
Technical and Strategic Evaluation
Beyond routine assessments, the monitoring program also served as a strategic reflection tool. The goal was to align higher education with the dynamic needs of the fisheries sector, ensuring graduates are industry-ready.
Strengthening Partnerships
A key outcome was the presentation of draft Cooperation Agreements (PKS) to industry partners. Positive responses indicate strong potential for long-term collaboration, including joint research and expanded internship opportunities. Some partners even expressed openness to supporting postgraduate studies for UNAIR students.
FPK UNAIR’s Commitment
Through PKL, FPK UNAIR is committed to:
- Enhancing industry-based learning quality
- Expanding relevant PKL placement options
- Strengthening cooperation networks with fisheries companies
- Equipping students with both hard skills and soft skills
Looking Ahead
With these strategies, UNAIR FPK aims to produce graduates who are not only work-ready but also capable of driving innovation in the national and global fisheries sector.
