On July 11, 2025, the Dharma Wanita Association of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), held a social service event at the UPT Child Protection and Social Care Center (PPSAB) in Sidoarjo. This event is part of the organization’s ongoing community service program, aimed at strengthening social awareness and fostering bonds among members as well as with the surrounding community.
The event began warmly with an opening speech and prayer led by the Dean of FPK UNAIR, Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D. In his address, Prof. Amin emphasized the importance of compassion and collective contribution to social welfare. Following the briefing, the Dharma Wanita team departed together to PPSAB Sidoarjo, where they were warmly welcomed by the institution’s staff. Smiles, laughter, and gratitude filled the atmosphere as both parties shared their enthusiasm for the meaningful visit.
As part of the activity, Dharma Wanita FPK UNAIR donated essential items for toddlers, including milk, diapers, baby food, toiletries, and educational toys. Beyond providing aid, the members also engaged directly with the children through interactive and joyful activities such as storytelling, singing, and playing together. The event created an atmosphere of warmth and care, leaving lasting impressions on both the children and the participants.
Chairperson of Dharma Wanita FPK UNAIR, Mrs. Dhani, expressed that this program reflects the association’s genuine empathy and concern for others, particularly for children who need care and affection. “We hope that this small contribution brings happiness and relief to the children at PPSAB Sidoarjo. More importantly, may it remind us all to keep sharing and caring for those in need,” she said. Her statement underscored the group’s commitment to integrating compassion into every step of their social initiatives.
The Head of PPSAB Sidoarjo also extended appreciation and gratitude for the support and kindness shown by Dharma Wanita FPK UNAIR. He expressed his hope that such collaborations will continue to flourish, inspiring further partnerships between educational institutions and social organizations. The event concluded with a photo session and a symbolic handover of donations, marking the success of another impactful social program by Dharma Wanita FPK UNAIR. Through initiatives like this, FPK UNAIR continues to instill values of humanity, empathy, and solidarity within the academic environment and the broader community—reinforcing the university’s dedication to its Tri Dharma principles of education, research, and community service.
